Purpose of role:
Opportunity to join a talented team of Analysts in the equity research team of a leading Stockbroker in Cape Town. The mission of this company is to build a strong team of analysts and ensure that they become ranked with key clients and consequently the Financial Mail Survey.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Researching/analyzing financial information/trends.
• Building clear financial models.
  
• Coverage responsibilities:
• Quantity: Number of formal (non-bespoke) reports disseminated to market on key companies/sectors covered.
• Event-driven (results, earnings updates, SENS cautionaries etc.) short thought-provoking. notes/guidance to industry – timeously disseminated (within 3 working days of market announcements)
• Hosting of management interactions.
• Quality for researching and writing reports.
• Become a rated analyst within their sector/category.
• Regular client contact – phone calls and presentations.
• Maintain and support key client CRM systems (as required, weekly at least), and maintain, support and manage workflow (weekly at least).

Required experience:

• 5 years + experience in a similar role in a stockbroking environment.
• Sector ratings.
• Strong Sector Knowledge.
• Ability to build complex financial models.
• Need to be personable and articulate with clients, have good presentation skills.

Required Qualifications:

• Relevant postgraduate financial qualification/CFA.
• Regulatory Exams.
