Job Description

Purpose of role:
As an Analyst, you will form part of Prescient Analytics - a leading risk, performance, cash flow management and compliance services provider. As part of the Prescient Analytics team, your role is to support the strategy of the business and ensure exceptional service delivery to clients.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Maintaining a solid understanding of (and an interest in) the investment industry, investment products, instruments and structures.
  • Maintaining an in-depth understanding of relevant investment regulations, including but not limited to:
    • AIFM and UCITS compliance for Irish and other EU funds
    • ASISA and Board Notice 90 compliance for CISCA funds
    • Board Notice 52 compliance for hedge funds
    • Regulation 28 compliance for retirement funds
  • Interpretation of legislation, regulations, standards and client mandates, and subsequent coding of rules in the compliance system.
  • Maintaining a good understanding of relevant investment risk metrics (for reporting purposes), including but not limited to:
    • VaR and CVaR (different VaR methodologies)  
    • Exposure metrics (gross, net, physical, effective, commitment and global)
    • Liquidity analysis (liquidity days, various ways of aggregating liquidity days across the fund, etc.)
    • Derivative (deltas, contract multipliers, etc.)
    • Risks related to specific investment products (counterparty, issuer, credit, drivers of price risk, etc.)
    • Scenario analysis and stress testing of funds
    • SRRI (synthetic risk return indicator)
  • Maintaining a good understanding of investment and disinvestment of feeder funds, funds of funds and actively managed exchange traded funds.
  • Developing and maintaining an understanding of the systems and processes utilised across the different products, services and deliverables of the business, with a specific focus on compliance, cash flow management and risk reporting.
  • Working closely with other internal teams to continuously enhance industry leading and scalable compliance, cash flow management and risk reporting solutions (with the necessary interfaces to ensure ease of use and understanding for clients).
  • Taking ownership of the relevant operational aspects (daily, monthly and quarterly) with regards to compliance monitoring/reporting, cash flow management deliverables and risk calculations, as well as being able to independently investigate errors or issues as and when these arise.
  • Interrogation and analysis of data, interpretation of report results, and efficient handling of queries to ensure resolution of both internal and external client queries.
  • Safeguarding integrity of sensitive client data.
  • Assisting senior team members with projects and take-on of new clients (also running independently with specific projects, as necessary).
  • Conducting market research when necessary and performing ad hoc tasks and analyses as required.
Required experience:
  • Related industry experience in a similar environment / role required (1 to 3 years) with specific exposure to compliance, cash flow management and/or risk reporting.
  • Exposure to relevant investment, compliance, risk and cash flow management systems will be advantageous.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel (VBA knowledge will be advantageous).
Required Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) - undergraduate degree with a focus on accounting, investments, mathematics and/or statistics; honours preferred.
